Break-even formula

Buyers needed = total monthly cost ÷ average USD per buyer

If you also want profit, add your target profit to the total cost first.

Example

Suppose your monthly costs are $500 for development, $300 for ads, and $100 for tools/assets. Your total monthly cost is $900. If each buyer is worth $0.80 after creator share and DevEx estimate, you need 1,125 buyers just to break even.

The trap most creators fall into

They build first and calculate later. That is backwards. You should know your rough break-even target before you pay for assets, hire helpers, or buy ads.

A game can be technically impressive and still be a bad business. If retention and monetization are weak, better visuals will not save it.
