Roblox Gamepass Pricing Guide
Most creators price gamepasses by guessing. That is lazy. Good pricing starts with player value, conversion rate, and expected revenue after creator share.
The wrong way to price a gamepass
The worst method is copying a competitor without knowing their traffic, conversion rate, retention, or brand trust. A 499 Robux pass can work in one game and fail completely in another.
The better pricing framework
| Price range | Best use | Risk |
|---|---|---|
| 25–99 R$ | Low-friction impulse purchases | Needs volume |
| 100–299 R$ | Useful boosts, convenience, cosmetics | Must feel clearly valuable |
| 300–799 R$ | Premium perks, VIP, strong permanent advantages | Lower conversion rate |
| 800+ R$ | High-value bundles or prestige offers | Easy to overprice |
Basic gamepass formula
Use this simple revenue model:
Estimated USD = price in Robux × buyers × creator share × DevEx rate
Example
A 299 Robux pass with 500 monthly buyers creates 149,500 gross Robux. At a 70% creator share, that becomes 104,650 Earned Robux. At $0.0038/R$, the rough cash value is about $398.
What makes a good gamepass?
- It solves a real frustration in the game.
- It feels valuable without destroying balance.
- It is explained clearly in the UI.
- It creates status, speed, convenience, cosmetics, or progression.
- It has a price that matches the audience’s willingness to pay.
Do not build pay-to-win junk blindly. It can hurt retention, reviews, and long-term trust. Short-term Robux is not the same as a durable game economy.
